Myers and Sarasota, Boca Grande is a destination for tourists and fishermen. Boca Grande is a peaceful community, which seeks to protect its unique way of life. Tourism and fishing are the main events on this tranquil island that has no high rises or traffic. Endless white sand beaches stretch along the Gulf side, while natural mangrove grow along the Intracoastal Waterway shores on the bay side. Boaters can enjoy Charlotte Harbor, Gasparilla Pass, and Placida Bay allow for boating, watersports, and fishing. Dolphins, pelicans, and manatees also call these waters their home. The summer's heat is tempered by a cool Gulf of Mexico breeze. Shops feature locally inspired keepsakes. The array of restaurants feature the unique local seafood.
